About Niko McCarty
I’m currently an M.A. student at New York University, where I study science journalism. As a journalist, programmer and former synthetic biologist, my goal is to tell captivating stories about biology, often with visuals.
I hold an M.S. in Bioengineering from the California Institute of Technology and a MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London, where I was a Fulbright scholar. I’ve published peer-reviewed articles on new CRISPR technologies, multiplexed guide RNAs, and engineered microbial communities. Learn more at nikomccarty.com or Twitter (@NikoMcCarty).
